Feeling bloated and gassy is an unpleasant feeling, but one that we’ve all felt at some time or another. Regardless of who you are and what you do, you probably won’t be able to run away from bloat. Women - during quite a special time - go through this and it’s painful. In any event, it’s important for us to understand some of the reasons why we feel that way and that’s our intention with this post. Understanding the reasons why you’re always bloated and gassy will give you an insight as to how to defend it.

1. Carb Overload

We don’t have to tell you how good carbs are. They do a lot of good things. They taste great and they give you the energy your body needs rapidly. However, carbs will make you retain a decent amount of water. Things like pastries, candies, and sodas get into your bloodstream instantaneously. Complex carbs like whole grains don’t. Remember that when you snack!

2. Too Much Eating at One Time

You knew this was coming! Eating too much in one sitting will make you feel bloated. Understand that your stomach isn’t much bigger than a fist, though you know that it will expand. The trick here is to stop eating before you get full, especially if you’re loading up on those carbs. This combination will make you extremely bloated and gassy all the time.

3. Eating too Much in General

Overindulging is something that we all do at one time or another. Eating problems can be detrimental or a lot of reasons, and in some cases is a mental issue, but it does lend to people constantly feeling bloated and gassy.

4. Reliance on Soda

Sodas are a huge offender for people bloating. It can be problematic for people, especially when you consider the sugars and the bubbles. If you’re feeling bloated and gassy, we would suggest you switch to water or other safer options. We understand that it can be difficult, so at least use it sparingly.

5. Fructose

This sugar is tougher for your body to break down more than others. Unfortunately, it’s in a lot of foods labeled as “high fructose corn syrup” in artificial foods, though it occurs naturally in onions, garlic, and honey. In that way it can be especially tough to avoid, so we suggest you keep a log of how much you ingest. If you can cut it out incrementally, you probably won’t feel extremely bloated and gassy all the time.

5. Fats

Fats are extremely important for our bodies. It strengthens your brain, hormones, and to make cell walls. That said, too much fat will definitely make you feel constantly bloated and gassy. This is because it will make it harder for your body to break down food. With it being high in calories, you can beat that you’ll also pack on weight quickly. The weight gain alone will, yup, make you even more bloated.
