You've worked so hard to ensure that you are feeling your absolute best while you are on your summer holiday this year whether that be abroad or you have enjoyed a magical stay-cation ☀
You've read all of our top tips in our How to Stay Motivated while on Holiday but have also allowed yourself time to relax, unwind and enjoy yourself. So what happens when you get back to reality and you have that after sun slump?
You feel like your motivation has gone, never to return; you don't feel like working out, and you start to wonder if you will ever get back to your healthy lifestyle from before your holiday...
Here's how we advise you can find your motivational mojo again and get back to living your best healthy lifestyle!
Comparison is the thief of joy 🥀 Do not compare where you are now with where you were before your holiday. And certainly do not compare your 'after-holiday-slump' with someone who apparently has got it all together from what they post on social media now they have returned from their holiday. We are all unique and what suits one person, will not suit another. Find what works for you, and do that. Start today and draw a line for yourself.
Do not try to make massive changes all at once ❌ Start small and make sustainable changes over a longer period of time. Why not start by setting your alarm 30 minutes earlier to allow you to get a workout done and start your day by moving your body? The rest of the day is then yours!
Create yourself a healthy routine 📆 Creating a solid routine for yourself is the key to your success. Waking up at the same time during the week, turning off the technology at the same time on an evening, making time for your own self care and to spend time with your loved ones. Balance is key.
Be prepared 💪🏽 Planning and preparation are your salvation when it comes to getting back to your healthy ways. This will help you to ensure you are always eating wholesome meals and following your workout program consistently.
Remind yourself why you started 💭 By looking back on the goals you set earlier in the year, it will make it much easier for you to get back on track. Remind yourself why you started and what your end goal is. You are far more likely to stay on-board the motivation train if you do this. Grab your diary and re-read your written goals or get writing them down if you haven’t already!
Lose the excuses 🗑 Excuses are an easy way to try to justify to ourselves why we are not prioritizing time for ourselves. Making excuses can come very easily when we feel like we’re falling off track; especially excuses involving putting others before yourself and your workout.
Remember: Consistency is key
