When I first started planning my retreats for 2019, I wanted to encourage and empower women to move out of their comfort zones, make new friends and gain a more intimate insight into my core values which are the driving force behind Results with Lucy 💕 The Lifehouse Spa and Hotel is an exciting, contemporary health spa just outside of London; offering a unique, life-enriching experience, tailor-made for every guest. Which is what made it the perfect 👌🏼 location for my first Results with Lucy Retreat of 2019!
Everything from the menu for the retreat and accommodation, right down to the workouts and wintery walks; were perfect for creating and relaxing, yet energising, mood amongst my retreat ladies.
It was hard not to notice the quiet chatter of new friendships being formed upon arriving on the first day of our retreat. Some of the ladies had met before, while some had stepped out of their comfort zone and come on their own (what an empowering action to take!) and were making friends 👭
After everyone had met and got to know each other, it was time to check into our rooms and get ready for the first workout of the retreat! Any nerves that might have been present at the start of the workout, were soon sweated out by the end! Our retreat workouts are aimed at beginners and so everybody in the room was able to complete them, at their own pace and ability level.
After our workout, it was time to get ready for our evening meal and our Q&A 🗣 session with the retreat ladies…
With vegan 🌱 and non-vegan menus to choose from, catering for specific dietary requirements; there was not an empty plate in sight! Everyone commented on how delicious the food was really enjoyed bonding over our common interest in fine dining! 🍴
Next, it was time to move into the relaxation room where we settled for an intimate question and answer session regarding all things Results with Lucy, health and wellness! The ladies really had a great insight into mine, and my Head PT, Cecilia’s approach to living a healthy lifestyle, as well as contributions from Paula, a health and well-being coach. It was great to spend some time talking with everyone and a lovely way to end our first day, before creeping off to bed, ready for Day Two 💤
Upon rising, the day was started with fresh lemon being delivered to each room for a morning wake-up drink of infused warm water. It was then time to get ready for breakfast before workout one for the day! Fuelled with our superfood breakfast, and after letting it settle in our stomachs, we headed to the studio for a booty and weights workout class led by Cecilia who was ready to get our bums looking peachy 🍑 with a fun workout!
The workouts on our retreat were all inspired by aspects of the exercises included within our monthly Fitness, Food and Mindset membership. Designed to be fun, targeted at all ability levels and ready to make you SWEAT 💦
After a juicy energy boost, it was time to relax a bit in the spa before heading to lunch. The RwL Fitties rested their achy, yet satisfied, bodies with a dip in the hot tub. And for those who really wanted to indulge, at an extra cost, they enjoyed a spa treatment! My retreats aren’t just about working out: they’re about enjoying yourself with your new-found friends. One of my ladies commented about how she felt like she was on a girls’ trip as she had formed such a strong bond with some of the other ladies on the retreat!
After enjoying lunch, the girls digest their lunch with a green tea and relax before the second workout of the day which was a famous Abs like Slabs workout with Cecilia! The workout did not disappoint and once we were all suitably sweaty, we all went and got ready for our evening dinner which was incredible! The vegan option was lasagne and even the non-vegans among us, who had enjoyed freshly cooked sea bass and veggies, were commenting on how scrummy it was after pinching a taster from their friends! 🍝
With full, and happy tummies, we moved into the conference room to enjoy a Mindset Seminar led by my RwL Life Coach, Jeff Spires. Jeff answered any and all questions that came his way in an accessible and educational way and we have taken so many learnings away from this time with him. He educated us around motivation, and how we are in control as well as self-confidence and stepping out of our comfort zones 👯♀
I really wanted to provide anyone who came on my retreats, the opportunity to connect with professionals in the health and fitness sector, and so I am so lucky to know some amazing people in the field who are more than supportive of my RwL Fitties!
With the end of Jeff’s seminar, it was time again to head off to bed before our last day of my retreat at The Lifehouse Spa and Hotel.
We again awoke to a lush lemon 🍋 infused water while getting ready for our final workout of the retreat, and our final day together. The workout for today consisted of a 4 mile wintery walk around the grounds of the hotel, and even included a climb over a fence! It was such a calm and relaxing way to end our time together. We then headed back to the hotel to check out and enjoy a buffet-style lunch, catering for all dietary requirements!
After the long-goodbyes, with our hearts and minds full from everything we had learnt from the retreat, we all headed off home 🏡 I thoroughly enjoy meeting everyone on my retreats and they are open to all current members and non-members of Results with Lucy! Some of the ladies who attended my retreat who were not previously a member, signed up while we were there because they enjoyed the workouts so much!
