It's no secret that, the secret to success, is ROUTINE 🗓

Now for most, a morning routine is something which is achievable around our rituals of getting up and ready for our work day, to get the children to school or to get ready for appointments.

👉🏽 (Click here for our tips on how to create a meaningful morning routine!) 👈🏽

But what happens for those of us who end a long day at work; tending to our homes or attending appointments and our energy levels are lapsing as the day draws into the evening?

This is where a solid, healthy routine will really come in handy for you, especially if you prefer to get your workout done at the end of the day rather than first thing in the morning when you wake up

Here are my top tips for creating a beneficial bedtime routine...!

Get home, get organised! 📝 After a long day, it is all too easy to sit down on the sofa for 5 minutes and then realize 3 hours later that you need to do the washing, cook tea, workout, shower and get ready to do it all again tomorrow!

So why not get home and get changed straight away into your workout gear and get your workout done while your dinner cooks? You'll have plenty of time to relax and sit if you follow these routine tips...

Become a Meal Prep Pro 🥘 Use your weekends to prepare as much for your meals for the following week as you can to help save you time during the week when your energy might be lapsing. Pre-chop your veggies or cook meals that will last you a couple of days to help you save time!

Slow cooker success 🍴 Utilise your slow cooker - chuck all the ingredients in before you head to work and then when you get home you don't have to worry about finding the time to cook your dinner!

Workout while you cook 🏋🏽‍♀ Most weekday evening meals, on average take around 30 - 45 minutes to cook. So why not get your dinner on the go and workout while it cooks!

This is the perfect time to complete one of our LIVE workouts classes, Beach Body with Lucy workouts or a workout from our Guilt Free Christmas challenge!

Now you've figured out how to create time for your workout and meal prep, make sure you have the perfect wind-down routine to get yourself sleeping through the night...!

Slow down and shower 🚿 Once you have worked out and eaten you dinner, head off to the shower and give yourself a mini pamper! Get a face mask on while you get ready to get into the shower and get your comfy PJs ready, moisturize afterwards and really enjoy the moment of blissful solitary after a busy day.

Time to turn off 🛑 Set yourself a time every night where your phone is switched to 'DO NOT DISTURB' and do not turn it on again until the morning. Now for some this might not be practical due to family or other commitments; but at the very least, place your phone in another room or put it on silent and away until the morning.

Read to relax 📚 After you have switched off, get out a novel you have been wanting to read for a while and spend some time before bed getting lost in a book!

Sleep for success! 💤 Setting a time to go to bed every night is the most beneficial thing you can do for your health and wellness. Never underestimate the power of sleep! Try and go to bed at the same time every night and aim to get between 7 and 8 hours' worth at at time. Try to keep your room as dark as you can and at a slightly cooler temperature for the optimum night's rest!
