Daylight Savings Time: How to Make the Most of Your Week

The saying goes: spring forward, fall backwards to indicate when we lose an hour in the year and when we gain that holy extra hour in October 🙌🏽

On this day where we gain that extra special hour, we suddenly see our social media explode with individuals suddenly becoming so much more productive...

⏰ working out
⏰ meal preparation
⏰ family walks
⏰ tidying and cleaning their house
⏰ tackling jobs they have been putting off for 


But what if we didn't need to wait for this once-a-year event to be more productive and can create extra time each week for ourselves to achieve more and have extra time to do the things we enjoy the most?!


Follow my top tips on how to make the most of your week without compromising on your high standards and productivity...!


🌅 Wakey Wakey!

Setting your alarm just a mere 30 minutes earlier each day will allow you to get ahead of yourself for the day. Use this time to complete your daily workout; clean or tidy a small area of your home; prepare the vegetables or some aspect of your evening meal for later in the day or, spend a little longer getting yourself ready for the day so you are not in a constant state of feeling rushed!


⏱ Power Hour

Think about the tasks you most need to get done in your day and get some wind behind you for a power hour! How much can you achieve on your 'to do' list in an hour? Put your phone away, turn the TV off and remove any distractions to power through and be as productive as you can be!


📝 Luscious Lists

Ever get the feeling you've got so much to do that you don't know where to start and end up not doing anything at all? Make a list of what is in your head regarding what you think you need to get done, and be honest with yourself about what actually needs to be done. Anything on there that isn't really a priority or something that will make a positive impact on your life? Scribble it off and see the list shrink!

Then, refer back to your list when you come to do your power hour so you do not get distracted with non-important tasks!


🔑 Preparation is Key!

Get your workouts, meals and weekly diary prepared! Plan your time to be productive and not busy. Are there any meals you can cook that will make extras for your lunch the next day to save on prep time? Can you plan your appointments in the week to be more steam-lined?


🤓 Plan Smarter

Got a catch up planned in with a friend you haven't seen for a while? Why not invite them to work out with you so you can tick 2 activities off your list at the same time? Or workout on your lunch break?


We don't need to make huge changes to make a huge change to our lives. Making more effort with smaller steps will help you to be more productive and save yourself lots of wasted time in the week - creating much more time to enjoy the things you love!
