Here, I wanted to take the time to write a letter to my past self of 2016, when I first started my journey with RWL to give myself; and anyone who might be currently in the same position as I was back then; some advice and guidance on the top 10 things I wish I'd known when I first started...
There it is - you're big mental breakdown! You've hit the place where you want to start fighting for yourself and your health. You've been thinking about starting RWL for a long time: following their Instagram, watching the awesomely inspiring ambassadors do their weekly Snapchat takeovers and clicking on their website - always tempted to sign up but never quite committing.
Well now is your time to take that leap of faith, my darling!
Here are 10 things you need to know as you embark on the next 3 years which will literally change your life...!
✨ You have to trust in the process. Don't go in with half a heart, hanging on to all of the information that has been failing you for so long. No more counting made-up currencies of food or justifying that you can eat as much as you want because you've been told you can. Focus on the new nutritional information you have been given.
✨ Making big changes all at once won't work for you - you know this. Start making small, sustainable changes to your daily habits and rituals. Drink more water. Try 1 new recipe per week. Aim to complete 2 workouts per week and build up from there.
✨ Reach out and involve yourself in the new online community you have joined. You will make lifelong friends in the #RWLfitties and have some amazing times together. You will meet them, share the highs, the lows, the trials, tribulations and triumphs in your life, and theirs. You will make wonderful memories and join them in celebrating their achievements and milestones.
✨ Try new recipes! We all know what a fussy eater you are but believe me when I tell you that you are going to try so many more new recipes and re-discover your love of cooking healthy, hearty meals.
✨ You're more capable than you think you are! Yes, some of the workouts will be tough, but you are resilient and you will master them in the end!
✨ You WILL learn to love yourself again. RWL will teach you that fit and healthy looks different in everyone. You will meet women of different shapes, sizes and abilities to prove this over the next 3 years.
✨ The With Self Love Confidence course will CHANGE YOUR LIFE! You will quit your job and do something you have wanted to do for so long - go self-employed! You will be given so many new opportunities which will allow you the flexibility to start a family and raise your daughter in the best way you possibly can.
✨ You will become an ambassador for the company! I know how much you are inspired by the RWL ambassadors now and that you never think you will be able to inspire and motivate as much as they do - but you learn to! You grow and you deserve it, so be proud!
✨ You will develop a passion for looking after yourself like you've never had before. You will take pride in your health and although you will experience a bump in the road of your journey when your thyroid decides to fail you - you will not quit. You just work even harder to reach your goals.
✨ Your confidence will be like nothing you have ever known for yourself before! This is your greatest achievement! Loving yourself and not being afraid to put yourself out there for the world to see in the hopes of firstly, keeping yourself accountable, but secondly: inspiring and motivating others as well
You've got this girl. Keep going and you'll surpass all of your expectations of what you thought making that first step of joining RWL would ever do for you!
